If your kids are anything like mine, mealtime is a battlefield when it comes to getting them to eat their veggies.
And because creating a healthy lifestyle for my family has always been a huge priority, I’ve found myself spending countless hours on blogs and Pinterest looking for creative recipes to hide veggies.
And let’s be real…parents don’t have all the time in the world to experiment with hundreds of recipes either.
After several #recipefails and messes in my kitchen, I decided to take another approach and go on a hunt at my local Publix supermarket for pre-made, veggie-rich products that my kids will hopefully love.
I was cruising the natural frozen foods section and came across an awesome brand called Garden Lites that just so happens to make countless products.
All the foods are gluten, dairy, and nut free and are made up of 33% vegetables.
We don’t have any allergies at home, but with all of the playdates we host at the house, it’s always nice to have something to offer the friends that do have allergies.
I also love the fact that the first few items on the ingredients list were actual veggies!!
I decided to try it out, so I purchased the chocolate muffins and the blueberry Oat Muffins.
I was curious to see if my kids could “taste through” the muffins and identify the veggie ingredients.
After trying them, I’m shock that these have ANY veggies at all.
They were delicious and no one was able to detect anything other than the sweet flavors.
These are great grab and go options for me and my kids when we’re running out the door for school or work in the morning, or even as a sweet treat in my kiddos lunch boxes.
All in all, Garden Lites passed the worlds hardest critics (aka my kids) and I’m so excited that I don’t have to try anymore crazy recipes that end up in a messy kitchen.
I found my Garden Lites Muffins at Publix! You can find yours in the freezer section of your nearest Publix, Stop & Shop, Giant, Shop-Rite, HEB, Kroger or Costco.
